Vet Pet Health & Insurance Administration
Pet Healthcare and Insurance Plans have become a staple offering at many veterinary practices.
Pet Insurance is now widely recommended, particularly among dog owners, as the cost of investigation, diagnosis, treatment and medication can quickly spiral into the thousands for more serious incidents. For clients the ability to pay and promptly claim this back or for the insurer to pay direct is a welcome relief in the event of injury or illness to their pet.
Healthcare Plans offer benefits to both Practice and Patients alike; with practices benefiting from consistent, recurring income, whilst clients gain from the greater convenience of paying a small monthly fee to access regular treatments such as flea, worming, vaccinations, health-checks and additional discounts across a range of other practice services.
The rise and popularity of these schemes has meant that the necessary promotion and administration has become an increasingly large and important role within the Practice. You will be charged with driving plan growth through promotion and selling, along with handling all the back-office admin, care and handling of accurate data and liaising with patients and insurers.
Key areas of responsibility can include:
- Promoting plans and registering new clients
- Processing insurance claims
- Communicating with clients and insurers
- Customer care and experience
- Client and pet relationships
- Obtaining/Sending medical notes
- Taking payments and processing refunds
- Knowledge of vaccination, flea and worming treatments according to protocol
