Job Summary:

This role is ideally full time (but could consider 3 or 4 days a week)

-You will provide clinical support to the Neurology team and patients.
-You will share responsibility for patient safety and quality of care from admission through to discharge and rehabilitation.
-You will work collaboratively as part of the Neurology team with clinicians, veterinary care assistants, interns and other colleagues to meet the needs of patients.
-Alongside your existing RVN duties, you will work towards ensuring a smooth flow for patients throughout their journey with us.
-You will assist with anaesthesia, surgery and diagnosis and provide nursing care to patients passing through the preparation and theatre areas and you will be responsible for delivering a high level of nursing care to the patients through the entire anaesthesia/surgical/diagnostic process.

Responsibilities and tasks:

• Provide, promote and develop the highest level of nursing care anywhere in the world to all patients under our care
• Support the Neurology team clinicians, with initial and recheck consultations
• Assist in the admission of patients and liaise with Floor Coordinators, Imaging team and Surgical Coordinator regarding the patient journey to ensure a smooth flow
• Assist with the preparation of patients for surgery, anaesthesia, and monitoring for surgery and diagnostic procedures
• Assist with the training and integration of new staff to the team as required
• Maintain the clinical environment in line with practice infection control measures
• Assist with stock control in clinical areas • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure that patient journeys are safe and resources are used efficiently
• Support and participate in nursing duties as deemed appropriate (anaesthesia, sedations, radiography, inpatient treatments etc)
• Communicate with clients throughout the patient journey and provide patient updates according to the clinician’s instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records • Liaise with nursing and intern team regarding surgical scrubbing resources and protocols
• Represent and promote the practice, its aims and values at all times
• In addition to your main duties you will be required to carry out such other duties consistent with your position to meet the needs of the business and as the company may require from time to time
• Actively participate in and maintain continued professional development
